Geri Halliwell has landed in Bahrain to meet with scandal-hit husband Christian Horner.

The Spice Girls singer, 51, travelled in style to reunite with Red Bull boss Christian, using a private jet on Thursday night to fly into Bahrain ahead of Saturday’s opening grand prix in the Gulf kingdom.

Geri jetting in to see her husband of nine-years comes as alleged flirtatious WhatsApps exchanges between Horner, the Red Bull team principal, and a female employee circulate on social media after the hundreds of screenshots were initially sent to 149 members of the F1 community.

Mum-of-two Geri, who used property billionaire Tony Gallagher’s plane on Thursday night, is yet to address the allegations made against her husband - who was cleared of any wrongdoing prior to the alleged WhatsApp messages being leaked online.

Speaking to MailOnline, a source close to Geri said: "She took off before the email landed. I don’t know whether she will be at the race but it will be mayhem if she is. It would be nuts. She may even be flying home."

Red Bull has cleared Christian Horner of any wrongdoing on Wednesday. Red Bull Austria, the team's parent company, said in a statement: "The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed. The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.

"The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."

But the screenshots sent to journalists and key F1 figures by an anonymous email account has thrown the scandal back into the spotlight once again. Friends of Geri's have claimed she thought the scandal had "finally gone away" and now fear the screenshots could "destroy her". The source told the MailOnline: "All along Christian promised there was nothing in it."

Prior to Christian being cleared on Wednesday, Red Bull confirmed they were looking into an allegation that her husband had behaved inappropriately towards a colleague, which he denies. No more details about the allegation have been shared, but it is currently being investigated by external experts. However, a day after the clearance, they're back in the spotlight as hundreds of WhatsApp messages were released via an anonymous email account.

A statement from Red Bull's parent company earlier this month said: "After being made aware of certain recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation. This process, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialist barrister. The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practically possible. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time."
