Coronation Street's Bethany Platt was exposed to the cobbles on Thursday night's episode.

Bethany made an explosive return to the cobbles on New Year's Eve having left in 2020 and it wasn't long until she caught the eye of former flame Daniel Osbourne, whose fiancée Daisy Midgeley recently cheated on him with Ryan Connor.

However, it was soon clear that she was hiding something and it was later revealed she was looking for work after leaving London as a journalist as she reached out to Chit-Chat magazine. However, things took a dramatic turn when Daniel answered a call on Bethany’s phone from the editor of Chit-Chat Magazine, leaving Bethany forced to come clean.

Bethany admitted that she submitted an article about him, Daisy and Ryan, leaving Daniel gobsmacked. Even worse, Bethany grilled Daniel's student, Lauren Bolton, for gossip about Daisy and Ryan. The troubled youngster, who has since gone missing and previously blackmailed Daisy and Ryan over their affair, was only too happy to spill, unaware that Bethany was recording their conversation.

After her secret was exposed, Bethany told Daniel that Chit-Chat refused to pull the article and things went from bad to worse on Thursday's episode. During Rita Tanner's birthday celebrations at the pub, Mary received a message and accidentally airdropped it to everyone in the pub.

Daisy was left horrified to read: "I had a Torrid Affair with my Acid Attack Hero", realising it was about her love triangle. Meanwhile, everyone in the Rovers also soon realised it was about Daniel, Daisy and Ryan. Daisy was left livid as she confronted Bethany and also accused Daniel of providing Bethany with all the sordid details.

Later, Daniel also confronted Bethany, accusing her of using him for her article, which left the tearful character offended as she stormed out. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to come up with a plan for journalist Bethany as they suggested she do a new article to take away the attention from the current one.

Soap fans will recall that Steve McDonald recently discovered that his wife Tracy Barlow had been cheating on him with former footballer Tommy Orpington, whom he idolised. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Very much looking forward to Bethany’s next piece hopefully it’s about Tracy cheating on Steve with his ‘idol’ #Corrie" while another added: "Maybe Bethany could do a piece on Steve, Tracy and Tommy? #corrie."
