Universal Orlando has finally given theme park fans a taste of what they can expect at the resort's brand new DreamWorks Land, set to open in summer .

Featuring beloved franchises such as Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Trolls, the new land is one of this year's most highly-anticipated theme park openings. Located in the Universal Studios Florida park, families will be able to enjoy a brand new Trolls rollercoaster, as well as a host of interactive play areas, character meet and greets and more.

For example, you'll be able to meet Shrek and friends at the ogre's swamp, or interact with Po in the Panda Village. Universal has also promised "unique treats, photo-op-worthy murals, interactive play areas, splash pads" and plenty more.

For a start, there's a brand new family-friendly ride; the Trolls Trollercoaster. Aimed at guests of all ages, you'll be boarding the Caterbus to join Poppy, Viva, Tiny Diamond, Satin and Chenille as they escape evil spiders on the thrilling yet gentle ride!

Meanwhile, Shrek fans can meet the beloved ogre as well as Princess Fiona and Donkey at Shrek's Swamp Meet, or tuck into themed snacks at the brand new Swamp Snacks offering (Far Far A Waffle, anyone?). Kids can also head to Shrek's Swamp for Little Ogres with four slides, wet play areas and a playground, or try creating quite the musical masterpiece at King Harold’s Swamp Symphony with its interactive lily pads.

As for Puss in Boots fans? They can take part in the Mama Luna Feline Fiesta, an interactive experience inspired by The Last Wish, with interactive screens, buttons, bells and maracas.

Kung Fu Panda fans can also look out for their favourite Dragon Warrior, Po, at a digital and interactive meet and greet experience where he'll teach them some Kung Fu moves, cook up some delicious stir fry and get up to plenty of mischief. Little Dragon Warriors in the making may also want to head to Po’s Kung Fu Training Camp, a fun play area with everything from water cannons and dump buckets to giant fans and oversized merry-go-round noodle bowls.

Of course Florida isn't exactly next door for Brits, but the good news is that there are heaps of new rollercoasters and attractions in UK theme parks for 2024. For example Thorpe Park is set to open the UK's tallest and fastest rollercoaster, Hyperia, while Legoland Windsor's Minifigure Speedway rollercoaster will be its fastest yet, and perfect for smaller kids wanting to take on their first thrills.
