Retro beach hut that starred in TV series could be yours for £70k

Nostalgia lovers can get a slice of 1940s British beach life in the form of a retro beach hut which is on sale for 'just' £69,999.

This authentic 40s Hampshire beach hut, which enjoys views of the Isle of Wight, is so well-regarded that it was featured on the first episode of Britain's Best Beach Huts series 2023, a Channel 4 series that premiered in 2023. In this three-part series, craftsman Jay Blades and interior design expert Laura Jackson travel the UK's coastline in search of the great British beach hut.

This hut is currently set up with a vintage kitchen and lounge area, located in Barton-on-Sea, Hampshire. "Rare, double-sized beach hut with 12-foot wide decking for outside dining or sunbathing. Suitable for a family or a couple who simply want extra space," reads the listing.

"Its front-row location gives you an uninterrupted view of stunning sunsets at the Isle of Wight and Purbecks. The beach is dog friendly. This is a local and not commercial beach, meaning when you are at the hut, you are far away from daily pressures and in the magical world of yesteryear.

"New block of toilets and shower are set up at the end of row. Drinking water tap is available approx. 164 feet from the hut. The hut features double glass doors and windows, which means that it can be used throughout the year. It also has a gas heater for winters."
