DJ Tony Blackburn had enough of ITV making endless schedule changes to fan-favourite soap Coronation Street.

The schedules have been changing in recent weeks to fit the FA Cup games, with soaps moving slots to fit the live matches. On Wednesday night, fans were disappointed to see that Coronation Street was replaced by the Liverpool - Southampton game. Presenter Tony, 81, was just as miffed as fans and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain about the constant schedule changes.

Along with a gif of the Coronation Street logo, he said: "This is now beyond a joke for all us Coronation Street fans. More football this evening on BBC and ITV which means no Corrie. Why can’t they put football on other channels and leave us Coronation Street fans alone or put Coronation Street on say ITV2 we will follow it anywhere !!!"

Billy Mayhew star Daniel Brocklebank was delighted to hear Tony is a big fan of the show. Taking to the comment section, he responded: "This has made my night! I grew up listening to you. I love it that you love us." One annoyed fan added: "Can't understand why they don't put the football on itv4, they do other sports."

One said: "Totally agree with you I'm sick of football on the main channels BBC as 3 channels and itv as 4 put it somewhere else." Some didn't agree and wrote: "Are the soaps not on enough anyway? Corrie most nights. Eastenders most nights. There’s only so much misery the writers can come up with. Football wins a bigger audience. Check the overnight figures."

Meanwhile, Coronation Street could air deadly scenes next week, as one villain avenges two residents. Villain Harvey Gaskell takes action against Adam Barlow after he goes against their big plan. The pair teamed up to take down Harvey's brother Damon Hay recently, amid Damon's romance with Sarah Platt - Adam's ex-wife.

But things took a turn with Adam realising Harvey's true plan including an escape plot. Adam's attempts to stop what he'd started will leave two of those close to him in grave danger next week, as Harvey orders someone to take revenge on Adam.

Sarah and her daughter Bethany Platt will fight for their lives as a car comes speeding towards them in an attempt to seriously harm if not kill them. The pair are unaware of the danger they are in as the vehicle accelerates towards them with them having nowhere to go.
