The 29th of February is a special day in itself being a leap year - which, to put it simply, occurs to keep the months in sync with the likes of equinoxes and solstices. But for beauty lovers across the UK, there's more to get excited about as Lookfantastic has launched a Leap Year sale offering 29% off brands like REN, Elemis, Kiehl's and Benefit with a special code: .

With big savings to be had on designer perfumes and mascaras alongside eye creams, cleansers and more, it's the perfect opportunity to either stock up on some of your favourite brands or try a product you've been eyeing up for less.

Now, you may be thinking that some items at Lookfantastic are already discounted - that's because the retailer's end of February sale is still on, offering up to 30% off some items. But with this FEB29 code, you can get a further discount. This means if the product you're after has 25% off, with the code, it'll get you an extra 29% off - and every penny counts.

Lookfantastic is a great place to get your hands on products that are hailed as alternatives for more expensive brands like Revolution Pro's Miracle Cream, now £7.50 - with the code £7.10 - which is similar to Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream. If you're after some new make-up, there are a plethora of lash-lengthening and volumising mascaras that'll leave you looking like you have falsies on for a fraction of what they usually cost.

For example, benefit's BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara usually costs £27 but has almost £6 knocked off it making it £21.60. The jet-black volumising formula is infused with aero-particles for a lightweight finish. When we tried this mascara out for ourselves, one of our team said 'the difference is spectacular' and added that the product "turned my very normal and slightly stubby lashes into what could easily have been mistaken for a glue-on strips. Boots annual 70% off sale is returning with some deals already available

Alongside benefit, YSL's Luxurious Mascara for False Lash Effect is down from £31 to £24.80 as is Lancôme's Lash Idôle Mascara, which now costs less than £20 at £19.50. Giving gorgeous long lashes the flutter out without the dreaded flaking, one shopper said: "Love this to give length and volume to my lashes! Lovely fluffy brush = no clumps…it is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it as the results are beautiful."
