Taylor Ward shares blunt way Riyad Mahrez reacted to her Saudi Arabia loneliness

Taylor Ward has revealed her husband's blunt reply after she told him she was feeling lonely in Saudi Arabia.

The Married to the Game star, 26, made the move from Blighty with Riyad Mahrez, 33, after the footballer bagged a lucrative gig with Al Ahli. However, it hasn't been an easy transition for the daughter of reality star Dawn Ward, as Taylor told Lorraine Kelly she has been "crying a lot".

Opening up about the new reality show, she said: "You see me in tears on the show, but I have warmed to it now and I am quite enjoying it." However, recalling the moment the mum-of-one confessed to Riyad she was worried she would be "sat at home on her own" in Saudi Arabia, Taylor said her husband replied: "It's part of the game, innit."

The reality TV star also started a business with her sister before it was "pulled from under her" ahead of the move as she told Lorraine: "Riyad was very supportive of me doing it but he was like, 'that's your thing and not mine'."

Taylor is seen breaking down in tears in Married To The Game - as she revealed Riyad told her over the phone they were moving to Saudi Arabia. Focusing on the lives of footballers' wives, the programme, which is now on Prime Video, reveals what it is really like being married to a sports star.

In one teaser for the show, which was released earlier this month, Taylor sobs, before she revealing: "Riyad rang me and basically told me we are moving to Saudi." Opening up about the reality of living in the Arabic country, she told Lorraine: "You have no time to process the news and the next thing you know you're on a flight with no house and living in a hotel."

Taylor, Riyad, and the couple's 18-month-old daughter Mila left their lucrative life in Cheshire in July when the footballer decided to say farewell to Manchester City and and start a new career in the Saudi Pro league.

Taking to Instagram after her husband signed a four-year contract with the Jeddah-based team, Taylor insisted she was excited about what the future might hold on the continent while sharing photos of the family getting used to their new home.

She wrote: "Home isn't always a place, it's the people in it. Excited for our next adventure together and can't believe we're leaving Manchester as a little family. The last few years have been some of my favourite and [we] will cherish those memories forever. Next stop, Saudi Arabia."

The reality star is now planning her third wedding to Riyad, which will feature in the new reality show, after the couple got hitched in a Muslim ceremony in 2022 before tying the knot again in London in September.
