This Morning host Sian Welby announces she's pregnant with her first child
Sian Welby announced live on Tuesday's Capital Breakfast show that she is going to be a mum for the first time.
The radio and TV presenter shared the exciting news live this morning with her Capital Breakfast co-hosts Roman Kemp and Chris Stark and with Capital listeners revealing that she is thrilled to be expecting a baby later this summer with her radio producer fiancé Jake Beckett.
Sian, 37, said: “I’ve got a bit of an announcement for you! I’m pregnant! I don’t know how I’ve managed to keep it from you for so long. The lies, the deceit, the mocktails! I couldn’t wait to tell you. This is a whole new journey for me and I want to take you all on it with me, and don't worry I'm not going anywhere! This is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share it with you all.”
Reacting to the news, Sian’s co-hosts Roman Kemp said “Oh my god! Oh mate I’m so happy for you and Jake as well!” and Chris Stark said: “Is this real? It is the most exciting news ever!”

The couple's famous pals rushed to congratulate the couple as Laura Whitmore commented: "Congrats! Gorgeous news xx," and Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor said: "Dude!! Super congratulations!!!" JLS star JB Gill said: "What news!!!! Congratulations you guys," while Ashley James added: "Omg Sian!!!!!! Congratulations! And welcome to the mama club!"
Sian will take a break during the summer but will return to Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby later in the year. Sian's radio producer beau Jake popped the question last year.
The This Morning host revealed she was engaged last August with a cute snap showing off her ring. She wrote: "Genuinely didn't see this coming. For once I am totally speechless. I didn't think it mattered until he asked me, and then suddenly it meant everything. Love you Jakey x 15.8.23."
Sian replaced Strictly Come Dancing star Vick Hope on Capital to host alongside Roman and Sonny Jay in 2020. Meanwhile, Jake works for Heart Breakfast as a creative producer alongside hosts including Kelly Brook, Rochelle Humes, Vogue Williams and Emma Bunton.
Earlier this month, Roman announced his departure from Capital before revealing Jordan would be taking over after leaving his show with Vick Hope at BBC Radio 1 – which will be filled by Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing.
