The easy hack has been called a "wonder in a box" and ensures sparkling white towels after every wash.

Sometimes getting a grey tinge when washing towels can be inevitable yet frustrating, but there's a way to ensure you keep your towels looking fluffy and white with one easy trick. So before you end up throwing your grey-tinted towels out, Mrs Hinch fans may have the answer you need - and there is no bleach involved either.

One cleaning fan took to the popular Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook page and asked other fellow enthusiasts how they make their towels white.

She penned: "What's the best way to make my white towels white again? Bleach doesn't seem to work." It's not advised to repeatedly use bleach on clothing as it can be harsh on fabric and can even lead to damage or discolouration. But luckily others came to the help and offered alternatives to using bleach to keep towels snow white.

However, there was one product the cleaning fans all seemed to suggest - Vanish Oxi Stain remover, the crystal white edition. One group member shared a photo of the product and claimed: "This Vanish is the best I have ever used," she explained how she uses it and said: "I put a scoop in drum with my detergent and my ancient white towels are like the driven snow."

While another agreed and echoed: "The Vanish powder of whites is what I always use. It brings my dingy towels up really nicely."

Others were quick to urge not to use bleach on the towels as one person warned: "Bleach will rot and make them yellow. I don't use bleach on anything it's horrible stuff. Instead, I use the Vanish stain remover in the white box," and a second added: "Bleach turns whites a yellowish tone, I use Vanish when washing my clients' whites, a miracle in a box. They turn a blinding shade of white. Just add a scoop to your washing machine on a 20-degree wash."

One cleaning fan suggested a natural method to simply use the power of the sun. They shared: "I've had white towels for years and years now. On a sunny bright day, hang them up on the line. The UV will bleach them a blinding white."

You can buy a 1.5kg tub of Vanish Oxi Action White Stain Remover from Morrisons for £12, or a 470g tub of Vanish Oxi Action Crystal White for £4 from Tesco.
