The suspected murderer of a woman in New York hotel slid underneath a public bathroom door to attack a separate victim, according to police.

Raad Almansoori, 26, was arrested on February 18 in connection with the killing of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia. The 38-year-old escort worker was discovered dead in Manhattan's SoHo 54 hotel next to a blood-covered iron.

Her body was discovered in an £85-per-night room by a maid at around 10.30am on February 8. Almansoori was apprehended by police in a car park in Arizona 10 days later while still driving the vehicle he had carjacked the previous day in Scottsdale.

Arizona Police Department posted dramatic footage of his arrest showing the alleged killer in handcuffs after he is thought to have embarked on a frenetic crime spree. Almansoori is said to have allegedly taken the car from a woman in Phoenix before stabbing her and then fleeing, according to police.

Prosecutors then allege that the day after this incident he cornered a female McDonald's worker in Surprise, Arizona by pointing a gun at her and stabbing her in a bathroom. The woman told police that the suspect followed her into the public restroom before crawling underneath the door of one of the stalls with a firearm, a hearing heard on Monday.

Almansoori allegedly told her to 'shut up' twice and brandished an orange-handled knife before stabbing her three times in the neck as she screamed for help. After being released from intensive care, she told detectives that she was scared she was going to be raped and have her throat slit, reports Fox News.

The suspect allegedly told police: "Not a single woman on this planet likes me." It is also alleged that he wanted to murder his dad and stepmum as well as burn down the house. But he had to wait for his sister to leave to property home before acting on his desires.

Almansoori had flown to New York from Florida at the end of January and booked a hotel with Denisse. The pair then argued over how much time he had paid for, according to police. CCTV footage showed him then leaving the hotel wearing the victim's leggings after his trousers were said to be drenched in blood during the brutal attack.

He caught a flight to Arizona on February 12 - where he then allegedly committed two more crimes against females - and was identified as a person of interest in the New York case. Almansoori remains in the Maricopa County jail in Arizona, jail with a £150,000 bond. Police also say he had previous arrests in Florida and Texas for kidnapping and sexual assault.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, however, is refusing to extradite Almansoori back to New York, saying she fears Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg won't keep him locked up. She told Fox & Friends she will prosecute Almansoori for two violent felonies in her state before she considers handing him over to New York.

She said: "We have two very violent crimes here. We have two women that were stabbed, and he is facing a lengthy mandatory prison sentence here, and even though there was a homicide in New York, we can guarantee that he is going to stay in custody here," before adding: "I'm putting the victims first and making sure that he stays in custody."

Denisse had been living in Queens with her son and nephew. Edwin Cevallos revealed the last time he spoke to his mum was the day before she was found dead in the hotel and he believes there was something different about her in the week before her death. The 18-year-old, told the New York Daily News in Spanish: "In the week [before] she was like, sad. She was so nervous and she was worried," and that, "I am in shock. I can't believe this happened. Everything here in New York reminds me of her. Everything.'"
