Former EastEnders cast member Pam St Clement gave a nod to her beloved character Pat Butcher at a pub last week, with her having poured a pint behind the bar.

The actor, 81 - who appeared on the BBC show for more than 25 years - visited McCafferty's at the White Hart in Bicester, Oxfordshire, over the weekend. The venue is described as a "traditional English pub with an Irish twist".

Pam posed for a photo behind the bar with a member of staff during her visit. She was all smiles in the photo and was seen wearing a white padded coat over the top of a black jacket underneath. She accessorised with a pair of earrings.

It reflected her late character's life in Albert Square, with Pat having been a bartender and later a landlord of the fictional Queen Vic pub on EastEnders many years ago. Her visit prompted comparisons to the character on social media.

Pam joined EastEnders back in 1986 and remained a cast member until her departure in 2012. Pat, who was one of the longest-serving characters on the show, was killed off on New Year's Day that year following a cancer diagnosis.

The actor however briefly reprised her role four years later when Pat appeared as a hallucination amid the death of Peggy Mitchell (played by the late Barbara Windsor) in 2016. Pat and Peggy were known for their friendship, and rivalry, over the years since the two characters were introduced.
