A bride-to-be has shared her ‘outrage’ after her fiancé’s family caused unnecessary drama over the couple’s wedding guest list. After telling how she and her husband-to-be had proudly sent out their ‘save the dates’ for their wedding later this year, she told how they were over their maximum guest list number already, but had wanted to include as many people as they could.

She also told how they had been meticulous with their planning, saying: “We thought we had all our bases covered.” She added: “We checked the list twice, finalised the FAQ section on the website, set up the registry – just in case people wanted to RSVP early, or needed more information.” She also said that the couple had made it very clear who was invited: “It is clear on the invitation, the RSVP section of the website, and the FAQ section that only the people mentioned on the invitation were invited.”

However, after being excited to see who would RSVP, she told how her fiancé’s second cousin was the first to throw a wedding curveball, and rather than replying for the two guests on the invitation, added a further two RSVPs for her children.

She said: “Did she reach out to us personally, or to my fiancés family to ask if her children could be included? No! Miss ma'am simply put all of her family members' names in the section intended for the place cards and in the allergies/special accommodations section (meant for food restrictions, obviously), she put: There will be four of us attending.’”

And after admitting she had found it funny when she first read her reply, she told how laughter turned to anger: “For a few moments I found her audacity refreshingly hilarious. Then, I remembered that this was a realresponse and I felt disrespected that my fiancés and my opinions were not considered,” she fumed.

And after taking her story to Reddit, she found most were on her side: “This is wild!” exclaimed one, while another said: “These people have already shown an egregious lack of boundaries, and I don’t expect them to have any more respect for them going forward. Un-invite all of them!”

Another was fuming on her behalf, saying: “You shut that down immediately!” while another said: “Tell her it’s not happening and be done with it. Your wedding.” One reader suggested uninviting the couple after the invite furore: “I’m in favour of uninviting them…these are the type of people who would be tacky and/or probably make serious gaffs at the wedding, like bringing in ziplock bags for leftovers! The audacity of some people never ceases to amaze me.”
