Ibrahima Konate has responded to a Chelsea fan who told him to "f*** off" after sending a classy message to Axel Disasi following the Carabao Cup final.

Konate and Disasi are international teammates with France, but were rivals on Sunday as Liverpool faced Chelsea at Wembley. And it was Konate's Liverpool who ultimately emerged victorious, with Virgil van Dijk scoring a late winner in extra-time.

Following the 1-0 defeat, Disasi posted a lengthy message on Instagram thanking Chelsea fans for their support and vowing to bounce back from the result. "Yesterday's defeat was a very tough one to take," he wrote.

"It hurts badly, and will hurt for a while. But the pain also brings us closer together, and we will overcome this as one. We will not stop. This might be the beginning of something new. Thank you for your unconditional support."

Konate then commented on the post, writing: "Warrior. All the best for the rest of the season brother." However, a fan responded to Konate by telling him to "f*** off", with the Liverpool star laughing off the comment.

He simply replied: "Allah see you! Keep going brother," followed by an applause emoji and two laughing emojis. Disasi also replied to Konate's comment, writing: "nice battle yesterday my brother congratulations."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, claimed it was "easily the most special trophy I have ever won". Speaking at his post-match press conference, Klopp said: "I loved it. What we saw here today is so exceptional and we might never see again.

"These things don't happen in football. I got told there's an English phrase that you don't win trophies with kids - I didn't know that. In my 20 years, this is easily the most special trophy I have ever won.

"It's exceptional. I get asked if I'm proud of this or that, but tonight that is the overwhelming feeling, I was proud of the people for the way they pushed us, the stuff that they created this atmosphere surrounding it, where these boys can do what they are best at.

"I was proud of the academy, proud of my coaches. It wasn't because of my potential last game at Wembley, it was because of how everybody contributed, seeing the faces after the game of the kids."
