When is the new Fortnite season - Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 start date
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is on the horizon, here's when you'll be able to jump into the brand new season.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 was a shot in the arm after a lacklustre Chapter 4 Season 3 and Chapter 4 Season 4. Not only did Epic Games introduce us to the brand new Fortnite Festival, Lego Fortnite, and Rocket Racing game modes, but the core Battle Royale and Zero Build modes got a brand new map and the weapon augment system, which is miles ahead of the weapon crafting we got back in Chapter 2. Not to mention new collabs like the Fortnite x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event pass.
As for what's to come, several Fortnite leakers (compiled by Reddit's r/GamingLeaksAndRumours) have all but confirmed that the next season of Fortnite will be themed around Greek mythology, with skins based on Cerberus, Athena, and other Greek gods, something that was given even more credence by Epic posting a teaser image featuring a three-headed dog. We don't know much else about the season yet, but as always things will start to trickle out as we get closer to launch. Perhaps it's finally time for the God of War Kratos skin to return to the game.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 start date
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 start date is Friday, March 8, so there's not long left to enjoy everything included in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 – including unlocking the Peter Griffin and Solid Snake Skins. The only thing carrying over between seasons is the recently released Lady Gaga Fortnite Festival Pass which is set to come to an end on April 22, 2024.
As for how long Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will be, well, we won't be sure until it's live in-game, but we can have an educated guess. The first season of a new Fortnite chapter is typically the longest one, for example, Chapter 3 and Chapter 4's first seasons both started in December and ended in March – just like Chapter 5 Season 1 is going to. The second seasons of both of those chapters ran another three months into June of their respective years, so unless Epic Games are changing things up in a major way this year, we'd expect Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 to come to an end sometime in June 2024.
