Martin Kemp told his wife Shirlie they "can't be heartbroken" if they're not invited to their children's future weddings.

The former Spandeau Ballet singer, 62, and Shirlie, 61, share two children together - radio DJ Roman, 31, and singer Harley Moon, 34. Neither are in a relationship but that didn't stop Martin and Shirlie from discussing their future weddings, with the latter saying in a new chat that she wanted to "be there".

However, Martin reminded her that they had no guests at their private wedding in St. Lucia in 1988 so wouldn't be surprised if their children did something similar. Shirlie said: "I'm not bothered that they're not married or have children. I think the world is a scary place. But if my kids get married, I want to be there."

Martin was quick to remind her of their own intimate wedding 36 years ago: "I can tell you, you won't be. Roman will do exactly the same thing [as us]. Everything he does, he's looked at, so he'll want to go away. And we can't be heartbroken because we'll have no right to be."

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, Martin added he can't wait to be a grandfather. Roman recently opened up about starting a family in the future. The radio star playfully referred to Martin as "grandad" while discussing his hopes for his children to see them both on TV one day.

Roman and Spandau Ballet star Martin often team up in showbiz - and they have even co-hosted a program called Martin and Roman's Weekend Best together as well as appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox. Earlier this year, he lifted the lid on his aspiration to have a family of his own and how it motivates his close working relationship with his dad. He said: "My dad and I get to work with each other all the time, and I'm so lucky for that.

"The reason we work together is that I know how much I'm going to love my kids and my family watching that footage of me and their grandad working together - and that's just our relationship." In 2022, Roman was rumoured to have dated Love Island's Maura Higgins after they reportedly "grew close" at the Brits afterparty.

He was also linked to German model Jette Kerkoff, with reports of a holiday to Mykonos and Roman liking her Instagram pictures. In 2021, it was reported that Roman had found love with Australian radio producer Codie Jones, who even met his parents. Between 2018 and 2020, Roman was officially with Swiss scientist Anne-Sophie Flury
