Match Of The Day host Mark Chapman in first relationship since death of wife
Match of the Day 2 host Mark Chapman is dating Dubai-based estate agent Clere Collier after finding love four years after the death of his wife.
Chapman, 50, is one of football's most popular presenters and hosts the BBC's highlights show as well as fronting Sky Sports' coverage of the Carabao Cup. He also led the BBC's coverage of the NFL before the rights were lost to ITV. Chapman's wife, Sara, passed away at the age of 44 in 2020 from cancer. They were married for 19 years and had three children together before her death.
The Sun now claim that Chapman has found love with Collier, a 43-year-old mother of two who is based in Dubai. She has previously been linked to Dane Bowers and makes regular visits to the UK for work and to visit Chapman.
A source is quoted in the report as saying: “It’s early days but Mark and Clere are in a good place and enjoying each other’s company. Mark’s focus has always been his children and work, so a relationship was unexpected. He and Clere are taking things slow and just seeing how it all plays out, but it’s clear to see they are really into each other.”
Chapman married Sara in 2000. He said previously of his family: “I know my family are very proud of me but I don’t look at what I do as being anything particularly special. I’ve got a great job and it’s so much fun but I don’t go in for any of that celebrity-nonsense. I’d much prefer a pint at The Railway any day.”

Chapman, who is also a presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live, joined Match of the Day 2 back in 2013. He has also fronted the main highlights show in the past as a stand-in for regular host Gary Lineker. He filled in for Lineker earlier this month when the former England and Tottenham striker was struck down with a "rotten cold". Lineker returned to his hosting duties the follow week.

He will present Sunday's showpiece final live from Wembley as Liverpool and Chelsea lock horns in a repeat of the 2022 finale. Chapman started his career as the sports reporter for Radio 1's Newsbeat before going on to become a fixture on 5 Live and BBC television.
He has since covered numerous major tournaments for the BBC. He was part of their coverage of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and has subsequently appeared in other tournaments, including the recent World Cup in Qatar.
