The 30th annual SAG Awards are being held in Los Angeles with some of the biggest names in showbiz at the event.

Idris Alba opened the show and immediately started to make jokes about how he ended up on A Bronx Tale, saying he used his English charm. This was the first time Netflix has ever streamed an award show, seeing the nominees and presenters able to swear live.

Idris told people to control themselves and joked to not say anything that they wouldn't say in front of Oprah, as he then said: "F**k." As well as cracking jokes, he also honoured the union and remarked on the SAG-AFTRA strike.

This year's ceremony, held at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, comes after a year including strikes for both SAG-AFTRA and WGA and is helping to celebrate the achievements of some of the top names in the industry. Featuring heavily on the nominations list included the Barbie Movie, Oppenheimer and Poor Things.

Emma Stone was hoping to win big after having been projected to take home the award for Outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role following her iconic performance as Bella Baxter in Poor Things. In the category, Emma went up against a number of talented actresses including Barbie movie's Margot Robbie, Killers of the Flower Moon's Lily Gladstone, Maestro's Carey Mulligan, and Nyad's Annette Bening.

Elsewhere, Barbra Streisand was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s show, which marks the last big bash before the biggest night of showbiz - the Oscars.
