Hollyoaks star unveils new girlfriend after 'sad' split from wife of five years
Hollyoaks' James Sutton has revealed his new girlfriend after splitting up with his wife of five years.
The actor, 41, who plays John Paul McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, announced he and Rachel Collin had called time on their marriage last year, citing the decision as "sad but amicable". Five months later, the soap star is now dating new girlfriend, Tamara, and shared a photo of the couple on Instagram.
As they posed in front of a mirror with Tamara looking very glamorous sporting a pair of high-waisted apple green trousers and a black top, James captioned the photo: "Mine," with a red heart emoji. He also added the hashtag "#datenight".

He was married to Rachel for five years (Instagram)The sweet snap went down a storm with his followers, including several of the Hollyoaks gang. Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen in the soap, said: "Love this." Meanwhile Lucy-Jo Hudson, known for portraying Donna-Marie Quinn in Hollyoaks, said: "Yes mate," with a red heart emoji. Show veteran Jamie Lomas also commented a row of heart emojis under the photograph. While another follower gushed: "Aww you look so happy."
James and his ex-wife Rachel found love at Glastonbury Festival eight years ago and returned there three years later to get married in a magical ceremony. However, the pair decided to call it quits last year as the Mirror revealed the couple, who hit a rocky patch during lockdown, had quietly divorced.

Confirming the end of their relationship while vowing to "remain friends" with Rachel, James told us: "Rachael and I had a wonderful relationship and marriage. It was very sad but amicable, and we remain friends." A source added: “James and Rachael have enjoyed a really happy marriage but, as many couples can relate to, their relationship became strained during lockdown. James is in the public eye, whereas Rachael prefers to be out of the spotlight and, after eight fantastic years together, they decided they were better off as friends. For now, James is focused on work. They still have a lot of love for each other.”
As James moves on with his new relationship, the actor has been packing in plenty of workout sessions in the gym and has lost a stone in eight. Giving fans a peek at his progress he took to his social media with a video of him sporting a vest, which showcased his bulging biceps.
The soap star, who joined Hollyoaks in 2006 and has been at the centre of some the soap’s most important plots, captioned the clip: "Slow progress is still progress #fitness #gymmotivation #liverpool."
Fans were somewhat hot under the collar by the post as many couldn't help but notice how he different James looked from the Hollyoaks character. One joked: ""WHO IS HEEEEEEE" while another exclaimed: "Looking great and hench . Keep up the fab work “ John Paul McQueen." Meanwhile a third fan seemed quite overcome by the transformation as they replied: "What the actual f***!"
