Daisy May Cooper has reached out to her fans after suffering a tanning blunder which she has struggled to correct.

The 37-year-old This Country star posted a series of photos on Instagram of her face covered in dark tanning cream and asked her million followers on the social media site for ideas as to how she could remove it. Daisy May, who rose to fame alongside her brother Charlie as cousins in the acclaimed BBC sitcom, shared a number of selfies in which she showed the gravity of her tanning blunder.

Captioning the first photo, Daisy May revealed that she had used a product that was two decades old and possibly out of date. She asks her fans: "Please help. The fake tan i used is 20 years old? No fake tan remover is working and lemon juice is not working. Tried nail varnish remover and that just burns.

Daisy May then added on a photo of herself with the tanning product on her face: "Made the mistake of fake tanning last night with a fake tan I bought in 2004. Does fake tan expire? How the f*** do I get this off?!"

A little later, the TV star shared another photo in which she asked whether the tanning product had changed her complexion any further. She asked her followers: "Does it look like it's continuing to develop more brown then first pic or the same?" Daisy May then revealed that she had tried a way she had found to remove the tan but worried she had now changed part of her face green in the process.

Posting a close-up of her face, with a circle drawn around a patch on her forehead, Daisy May explained: "Crushed up a dishwasher tablet into a paste and scrubbed forehead now its going green. Is that from dishwasher tab or tan developing????"

There was much hilarity among her followers, some joking about what has happened while others looked to share constructive ways of making a difference to the tanning blunder.

One follower joked with their comment: "All right David Dickinson how much for this here antique vase?" But another tried helping by suggesting: "Yes it's a lot more mahogany now - have you tried toner?"

This comes after Daisy underwent a body transformation after splitting from Will Weston, who is the father of her daughter, Pip, and son, Jack Michael. Daisy previously said she had been following the keto diet since the birth of her second child, Jack, in September 2020, adding it was the only diet she has ever "really enjoyed." A keto diet involves the reduction of carbohydrates and increase of high-fat foods.

The pair were married in The Cotswolds in September 2019 and together they have two children, to whom they're "both devoted parents". Will is a landscape gardener who runs his own company called The Garden Plant Company, which specialises in advising on horticulture and supplying plants, trees, shrubs, and more.
