Mel B says the Spice Girls are helping Geri as she deals with the scandal surrounding her husband, Christian Horner.

The Red Bull Formula One boss, 50, is being investigated over allegations of "inappropriate behaviour" toward a female colleague - a claim he "completely denies". Geri, 50, who shares son Monty with Christian, is said to be "too upset to talk" about the allegations, but Mel, 48, says she and the rest of the Spice Girls will always be there for her.

Despite rumours of a feud between the pair, sparked by Mel claiming she and Geri had enjoyed a fling at the height of The Spice Girls' success, the Leeds-born star says the band have been in touch with the mum-of-two.

Revealing how they are communicating with Geri as the investigation into her husband's behaviour continues, Mel, who plans to get married to hairdresser Rory McPhee at St Paul's Cathedral this year, said: “We have a WhatsApp group and we have sent messages," reports The Sun.

Another Spice Girl said to be helping Geri is Victoria Beckham. A source told OK! that after hearing about the probe into Christian's conduct, the mum-of-four was quick to offer support to her former Spice Girl bandmate. They said: "They always got on well and have been there for each other through the difficult times. When Geri was having a bit of a stormy relationship with some of the other Spice Girls, Victoria supported her and helped her through. It's the same now Victoria wants to support Geri any way she can."

It has also been claimed Geri, who tied the knot with Christian in 2015 and had their little boy Monty in January 2017, was a big help to Victoria when things were rough in her own marriage to David Beckham. The source continued: "Victoria and David have had some really low points together as a couple and Geri was there for her."

However, the artist known as Ginger Spice was said to be "too upset to engage with anyone" as the news of the allegation against Christian broke. A source told the Daily Mail : "Geri seems to be simply too upset to engage with anyone. Just lots of tears. She will stand by him [Christian] and be at his side just as much as she always has been. She never misses a race and that will not change."

Christian said he hopes the probe into allegations of misconduct against him from a Red Bull employee will come "as soon as possible". But he could not comment any further when quizzed on the ongoing investigation during pre-season training in Bahrain on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, has called for the investigation to be transparent. Claiming it's "an issue for all of Formula 1", he said: "If it is done in the right way with transparency and rigour, we need to look at the outcomes and what it means for F1 and how we can learn from that. We want to talk about sport rather than these kind of very, very critical topics."
