A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies explains why she really quit the show

Danni Menzies has spoken about the reasons why she decided to quit A Place in the Sun after six years presenting the Channel 4 show.

The 35-year-old called time on her travelling around with the property show back in 2022, but had recorded enough episodes that it kept her on TV for a while afterwards. Her announcement to leave disappointed fans of the popular show and Danni has now explained her reasons for moving on.

Speaking to the Express, the TV presenter said that there was no one reason for her leaving but felt it was time to try something different. She explained: "I decided to move on for a few different reasons to be honest. I found that travelling as much as I did, I found it hard to establish relationships. Also, six years in the same job, travelling loads, it was such an amazing experience, went to lots of great places, met lots of great people."

Danni continued: "I was very much in my comfort zone and now I'm very much out of my comfort zone and it makes you feel a little bit more alive to be honest." It is not goodbye on screen as yet for Danni as there are plenty of as-yet-aired episodes finished. Danni added: "I actually stopped filming A Place in the Sun two years ago. I filmed so many episodes before I left that they had loads of them in the can, so I think I still have a few that haven't been aired."

In the past week, the TV presenter shared a health update after she was involved in a devastating moped crash in 2022. Danni was left unconscious in the street after being knocked from her moped by a stolen vehicle that had lost control at 30mph and this week, she visited an Audio Vestibular.

Danni was left with a long gash on her lip and eyebrow, which she fears will leave permanent scars as well at the post-traumatic stress disorder that she has suffered since the collision.

Speaking about the horrific moment, Danni spoke out on Instagram last year, telling her followers: "The scar is there and I look different, not much I can do about that now. We move!" More than two years after the crash, Danni has now shared a new update to her health.

Alongside a number of photos and a selfie, Danni told her fans: "A bit of life lately. Seeing the Audio Vestibular doctor about why I often feel like the room's spinning when I lie down since my accident."
