"It was strange, my son saw it first and he said 'what was that?'," said Stuart. "I saw it too but I didn't know what it was. So we went home and had a look at the dashcam footage and I didn't think it would show, but I was surprised to see that it did. It was something about five or six stories high, and it was a bluey-green colour. It was a bit of a weird one."

Speaking to Ayrshire Live, about the incident in February 2022, Stuart how he couldn't work out what it could possibly be and that his son suggested it may have been a meteor or some kind of space debris.

Despite repeatedly viewing the stunning footage, Stuart was left none the wiser about what the plummeting light was. Another suggestion that he had was that it may have been a low-flying gull, but he ruled that out before his son suggested it could have been the space debris.

Stuart said: "It wasn't a reflection or a bird flying under a lamppost. It was much higher than a lamppost and it looked like it was going quite fast. It was something that was lit. I also thought it could've been a Chinese lantern but it wasn't that orange colour. I have no idea what it could be, although my son thought it looked like a meteor."
