Football fans made their feelings known after YouTuber IShowSpeed committed a foul from behind on Ballon d'Or winner Kaka in a charity game.

The pair were involved in the 'Match For Hope' fixture in Qatar, alongside other ex-footballers, influencers and content creators. Other former pros to take to the field at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium included former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Eden Hazard and former Champions League winner Didier Drogba.

With the scores level at 2-2 and less than half an hour on the clock, Kaka received the ball just inside the opponents' half. Speed was more than 20 yards away from the Brazilian at the time, but sprinted in his direction before sliding into a challenge from behind.

Kaka was left on the turf after the challenge, with Speed picking up a yellow card for his troubles - despite some protests from the 19-year-old American. Those watching, however, didn't take too kindly to the challenge.

"That could have injured him," one fan wrote on social media. "You don't tackle a legend on a charity game, on Brazil he wouldn't be playing anymore," was one of the stronger reactions.

"Kaka should show this guy his place. This is utterly unacceptable," wrote another. A fourth said: "He's lucky Kaka is a humble guy, the way he's going someone's gonna snap".

There were a handful of other onlookers impressed by Speed, with one citing his "craziness and audacity", but plenty of others were concerned by him putting Kaka in danger. "Bro needs to understand how dangerous that was," another replied.

As laid out on the Match for Hope website, the game "goes beyond football, raising funds for children who have no access to schooling and education". Profits are going to the Education Above All foundation, which is "dedicated to providing quality education for marginalised people in the developing world".

It is not the first charity match in which IShowSpeed has featured. He was also part of the Sidemen vs YouTube All-Stars game in 2023, which took place at West Ham's London Stadium.

The Sidemen ended that match as 8-5 winners, with KSI playing in goal as he looked to avoid injury before his fight with Tommy Fury. Speed was part of the YouTube All-Stars squad for the 2023 game and also for the 2022 edition, which helped raise more than £1million for charity.
