NHS England recognises the importance of introducing soft food to babies from the age of six months and above, promoting the introduction of flavours to help little ones develop fussy taste buds. However it's a lot easier said than done, which is why Ella's Kitchen is handing out a free guide.

Ella's Kitchen say: "By giving your toddler a variety of different foods, the more likely they are to try and accept new foods". On their site, Ella's Kitchen says it can also help create a 'more balanced diet', the guide is filled with creative ideas to sneak veg onto plates in ways that are likely to get little ones attention and not see them turn their noses up at broccoli, carrots, sweet potato or sprouts.

If fussy eating is a problem around your dinner table theirs also tips from experts on ways on tackling this including family-style meal times (serving up food in the middle of table and everyone helping themselves) to play ideas. This links in with sensory play, a way of toddlers getting used to different textures, colours and smells before actually eating the food.

Ella's Kitchen Sweet and Creamy Curry method

Start by heating the oil in a large saucepan, add the onion and garlic. Fry for one minure while stirring and then add the chicken pieces. Cook for three to four minutes over a medium heat, until the pieces are golden brown all over.

Then add the grated ginger, curry powder and cook for one minute. Next add the sweet potato and carrots followed by the coconut milk, stock and mango. Mix everything well and bring the liquid to a boil. Cover, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes until the sweet potato is soft.

Lastly add in the beans and cook for another three minutes before serving with rice or naan bread. You can add a top of parsely too to finish, if this added fresh herb goes down well in your house.
