A tearful Kym Marsh bravely revealed she would be burying her son's ashes next to her late father.

Speaking emotionally about the loss of her baby boy Archie, the former Coronation Street star said that his ashes will rest next to her father David who sadly passed away earlier this year. She shared these heart-touching insights during a chat on BBC's Morning Live.

Kym lost her wonderful dad David in January when he was 78 after he courageously fought prostate cancer. Following his passing, Kym decided to lay her son Archie - whose dad is her ex-hubby Jamie Lomas - beside her beloved dad. Archie tragically passed away at just 21 short weeks after his early arrival in February 2009.

Chating on BBC One's Morning Live last Thursday, brave Kym shared her and Jamie's decision to bury Archie's ashes with her dad shortly after marking the 15th anniversary of their son's passing. "Archie would have been 15, we've just celebrated his birthday on February 11," she told show hosts Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton.

Sharing more details of their decision, she said, "When we found out that dad was going to sadly pass away...I had Archie's ashes with me ever since the day that we got them because I always felt like it wasn't the right thing to do [a burial]."

Kym struggled with where to put the ashes because Archie's life was cut so tragically short. "Because I didn't get to know what kind of little boy he was or where he would like to go or what he would have liked to do and because I move around so much, I couldn't really put them anywhere."

So, both Kym and Jamie agreed that their son should finally rest in peace alongside Kym's beloved father. "And we decided both Jamie and I that we would let Archie rest with my dad. So when my dad's ashes come back we are going to lay Archie to rest with my dad."

She shared that her dad would have really liked how she's planning to lay him to rest, mentioning: "I mean I saw dad at Christmas and Archie [ashes] was there too, I took him to my daughter's at Christmas. And my dad said that day, he put his hand on the box and said 'Are you ready to go on our journey mate?', so dad got a lot of comfort in it and I know now he is up there eating ice cream with him."

Kym also posted a touching message for Archie last week on what would have been his 15th birthday. She expressed her feelings on Instagram: "15 years since life changed forever. 15 years of missing you, of loving you, of wishing we could hold you again. Of wishing we could hear your laugh for the first time."

"Wishing we had heard your voice. Wishing we had got to see you play and run and enjoy your birthdays, as you so deserved to do. We will never have those things with you Archie but you live on in us all."
