George Clooney's £15million UK mansion has been hit by flooding

George Clooney's stunning riverside mansion has been hit by severe flooding for the second time this year.

The Hollywood actor's impressive £15 million manor home on the banks of the River Thames has been affected following heavy rainfall. It appears the Grade II listed house hasn't suffered any water damage, however the gardens and surrounding area have been totally drenched in water.

George shares his gorgeous home with wife Amal and their twins, but unfortunately their perfectly manicured gardens are submerged as the Thames broke its banks. Earlier this year, their mansion suffered the same fate as it was hammered by Storm Henk. While the gardens were submerged, the home once again narrowly avoided flooding.

The famous couple purchased the home in 2014 and have faced previous floods in their garden, tennis courts and veranda. In November, George was lucky the flooding stopped short of the buildings he had recently renovated. Since purchasing their home, George and Amal have transformed the barns and added in a pool.

Their hard work is said to have heavily increased the value of their property. Storm Dennis consumed the whole garden in February 2020, while Storm Christopher took over the veranda in 2021. A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office. Met Office Chief Meteorologist Paul Gundersen said: “After what has been a wet February so far, further rain is on the way on Thursday, accompanied by some gusty winds and potential impacts for those within the warning areas which cover much of southern, central and eastern England.”

“There’s a small chance that wind gusts could reach 60-70mph, mostly likely on exposed coasts, though more widely we're likely to see a shorter spell of heavy, squally rain with hail and thunder in a few places and gusts to around 50mph. Most places within the warning areas are likely to see 10-15mm of rain, with a chance of 30-40mm in a few places. This is falling on saturated ground, which elevates the chances of flooding and disruption.”

George and Amal purchased their stunning home in October 2014, just after tying the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Venice. The nine-bedroom listed building sits on a green patch of land straddling the Berkshire and Oxfordshire border on the banks of the River Thames. It is set in four acres on the outskirts of the beautiful quaint village of Sonning. The Clooneys' neighbours include Home Secretary Theresa May and Led Zeppelin founding member and guitarist Jimmy Page.

The couple also have a home in Lake Como, Italy which the actor purchased back in 2002. He is said to have purchased a neighbouring property and made it "one of the largest private homes in the area". It now boasts 25 rooms and has played host the countless celebrity guests over the years.
