Travis Kelce delighted fans when he finally arrived in Australia to join Taylor Swift on the latest leg of her Eras World Tour, but the NFL star didn’t travel to the country alone.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was rumoured to be heading Down Under after winning the Super Bowl earlier this month, as Taylor prepared to perform dates in Melbourne and Sydney, before heading to Singapore next month for another six gigs. And on Wednesday, Travis, who has been dating Taylor since August last year, took a private jet from Hawaii to Sydney with his best pal - and former Chiefs’ teammate - Ross Travis.

The impressive jet landed in Sydney on Thursday morning, with Travis and Ross whisked away in chauffeur driven cars to Taylor’s hotel Crown Towers. Both men could be seen from the floor-to-ceiling windows of the lavish presidential villa taking in the sights of Sydney, before Travis headed out on a sweet date with Taylor to the city’s famous zoo.

Ross hinted at his impending arrival in Australia with a post on his Instagram Story, sharing a snap from the private jet window with the caption: “Down Under.” The 31-year-old has been longtime pals with Travis since they played together back in 2015 when Ross was drafted by the Chiefs from Penn State. They struck up a close friendship as they both played the same position - tight end - and remained friends when Ross left the Chiefs two seasons later.

He played two seasons with Indianapolis Colts, but injury almost ended his playing career after he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018. He was then put on the Colts’ injury reserve team, and was re-signed in 2019, only to be let go in August, before being brought back again in November. He was let go by the Colts and headed east to join the New York Jets in 2019. Ross then floated around various teams as a practice player in the NFL, including the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions before becoming a free agent in 2021.

Ross has remained supportive of his close friend Travis, and the duo are regularly seen during workout sessions together, while the free agent can also be spotted in the stands cheering on the Chiefs at most of their games. Taylor has also seemingly won over her boyfriend’s best friend, as they have been chatting and laughing as they watch Travis play for the Chiefs from the friends and family stand. And when the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in Las Vegas earlier this month, Taylor was almost crushed in a giant bear hug by Ross, who scooped her up in delight while she was celebrating with close friend Blake Lively.

Ross has been by Travis’ side since he won his second Super Bowl, and the pair took part in a charity golf tournament in Las Vegas. Shortly before they jetted off to Australia, the BFFs were snapped leaving an indoor golf centre in Parkville, Missouri after a mammoth four-hour session that set Travis back a whopping £490 ($500).
