Famously defending OJ Simpson during his infamous 1994 murder trial, Robert Kardashian enjoyed a glistening career before his untimely death in 2003.

The businessman and attorney, who was married to Kris Jenner from 1978 to 1991, would today be celebrating his 80th birthday, on February 22. He died aged just 59 on September 30 2003 after a short eight-week battle with oesophageal cancer.

Using clever artificial intelligence (AI) technology, The Mirror has been able to see what the star, father of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob Kardashian, would look like today on his heavenly birthday. The bot has made sure to include his family in the picture.

The AI has crafted family man Robert in an all-black suit, similar to something he would wear in old photographs from the 90s. He has his arms around what appears to be a grown-up Kim and Kourtney, with the latter holding her baby shared with Travis Barker.

Another AI-generated snap shows Robert with ex-wife Kris as she resembles more of what she looks like today, complete with her signature hair style. In the same picture, the left of the screen shows daughter Kim with Robert as he virtually smiles.

Before Robert's death, he didn't smoke or drink and there was no history of cancer in the family. "It was so surreal, the knowledge he had cancer was one thing, but to think it would actually take his life, I never in a million years thought that would happen to him," Kris later said of his sudden passing.

Daughter Khloe later said that she could only put her father's untimely death down to stress. "I think holding in secrets [and] stress kills you! I feel like you manifest things, you have to think..." she mused. Robert's passing came eight years after he rose to prominence through his involvement in the OJ 'trial of the century'.

He served as a member of Simpson's defence team when the American footballer was accused of the double murder of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. Robert hadn't been in a courtroom for two decades and hadn't worked as a lawyer for 12 years when he got involved in the case, but re-activated his licence specially to help his friend OJ, claiming he was convinced of his innocence.

The move put a huge strain on his relationship with ex-wife Kris Jenner, who was a close friend of murdered Nicole. When OJ was eventually acquitted, Kris was pregnant with her first child with Caitlyn Jenner, then known as Bruce, who she later called Kendall Nicole Jenner in tribute to her late friend. After the case, Kris and Robert had to move past the controversy to continue raising their four children as co-parents.

Eight years later, when Robert's cancer was found to be terminal he called upon Kris' new husband Bruce Jenner to take care of those kids. Bruce promise that he would 'always take care' of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob when their father was no longer around.
