What Harry Potter's Alan Rickman would look like on posthumous 78th birthday
Star of Harry Potter, Alan Rickman, who played the role of Severus Snape in the hit movie franchise, would have been 78 today - and artificial intelligence has now imagined what he would look like today, despite his tragic death eight years ago.
Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman was born on February 21, 1946, and today would have marked his 78th birthday. He sadly died on January 14, 2016, aged 69 following a battle with cancer.
The star, who was well known and loved for his roles in films including Harry Potter, first shot to stardom in 1988 when he played Hans Gruber, Bruce Willis's adversary, in Die Hard.

Artificial intelligence has now imagined what Alan - and his Harry Potter character, Snap - would look like today at the age of 78. Alan was known for his short grey hair, whereas Snap was known for his long brown locks.
The AI-generated images of Alan and Snape look very different from how Alan looked before his death, and how Snape looked in the last Harry Potter movie. In the AI-generated photo of how Alan would look at age 78, the actor's face appears slightly fuller and visibly older.
The AI-generated photo of Alan also sees the actor sporting his signature grey looks, with them appearing slightly longer than how he usually had them styled. Alan's eyes also appear redder in the AI-generated snap.
Meanwhile, in the AI-generated image of Snape, the exceptionally skilled wizard can be seen looking very familiar thanks to his long dark hair. But although Snape sports dark hair in the generated photo, you can see that his hair is greying around the edges, with his eyebrows also becoming greyer around the edges.
Snape's face also appears older, with his skin plumper and with more fine lines and wrinkles than how fans will remember the star in the Harry Potter franchise.
