Police update after horror graveyard attack as 'noxious' liquid thrown at man

Police have arrested a man, after a victim had an unknown corrosive liquid thrown at him in a graveyard.

The incident happened at around 8.20pm on Sunday February 11 at St Laurence Graveyard in Ramsgate, Kent. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for burns and he has since been discharged. Kent Police have this afternoon confirmed a 22-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of assault and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

In a statement, Kent Police said: "Detectives continue to urge anyone with any information who has yet to come forward to get in touch. They remain very keen to speak to a man who is believed to have walked out of the churchyard around 9pm.

"The man is described as white, in his mid to late 20s, with short dark hair and glasses and wearing blue jeans, a black coat with a hood and black headphones. He is not being treated as a suspect, but officers think he could have witnessed something significant and might have information to help enquiries."
