Louise Thompson shares she's returning to hospital as she gives health update

Louise Thompson has revealed she is returning to hospital - just days after she was discharged.

Last week, the 33-year-old reality star revealed she had been rushed to hospital after returning to the UK from a holiday in Antigua after she was left in agonising pain. She was treated and spent over two weeks in a hospital receiving treatment before returning home to her fiancé Ryan Libbey, 33, and their two-year-old son Leo-Hunter.

Louise has been keeping her fans updated on her progress since she was released back home - and has not revealed she is heading back to hospital. In a social media post that she shared on Wednesday, the star explained she would be spending a lot of time in hospital in the coming weeks.

Louise shared a short clip of herself riding in a car while listening to the Scottish rock band Buffy Clyro. The former Made In Chelsea star nodded her head - and her son could be seen sitting in a car seat behind her.

Adding a caption to her clip on Instagram, Louise wrote: “Big steps. 1. First school run with the gang. 2. Then back to the hospital for weekly check ins. 3. Also Biffy Clyro just BANGS.”

Louise has been diagnosed with a number of health issues that she will battle for the rest of her life. In 2018, the reality star shared the news that she had been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis - a medical condition that causes inflammation of the lower end of the digestive system, including the large bowel and rectum.

She fell pregnant in 2020 but had a traumatic birthing experience when Leo-Hunter arrived in 2021 in which she suffered a haemorrhage and lost three litres of blood. She was also diagnosed with post-traumatic stress following the birth - and was also given a lupus diagnosis.

While Louise hasn’t explicitly explained what health issue made her recent holiday an agonising trip abroad rather than a relaxing moment in the sunshine, in a recent post she did make reference to C-reactive protein, CRP, a annular pentameric protein found in the blood which will turn up high in situations where the body is responding to inflammation. In recent social media posts she shared that she had been hospitalised and thanked both Ryan and their son for visiting her to keep her company and lift her spirits.

A week ago, the star explained last week that she had returned home after more than two weeks of hospital treatment. She told fans: “I am a STRONG COOKIE and I am working hard on a speedy recovery.⁣⁣ And there will be a silver lining. I promise I’m already searching for it. Already found a few nuggets. ⁣⁣ A nice little reminder that health is everything. It must always come first first first. Along with my family and my son.⁣⁣”
