Robin Windsor's best pal shares tragic details about star's mindset before death
One of Robin Windsor’s closest friends has shared a tragic insight into the Strictly star’s mindset .
Former BBC star Robin was reportedly found dead in a London hotel aged 44 this week. Taking to social media on Wednesday, Robin’s fellow dancer and friend of 22 years Gordana Grandosek Whiddon expressed her grief in a heartwrenching post and said that although it seemed as though Robin had “gotten out of the shadows, he never did”. Gordana added that she “tried so hard” to support her friend but “it wasn’t enough”.
The professional dancer posted a montage of herself and Robin’s best moments over the last two decades alongside a lengthy caption that read in full: “Robin Bobby I can’t believe I’m writing this, I thought we will get old together? Remember, we were speaking about it last time when we were together with Trent. What happened there???”
She went on: “I can’t believe you are gone. You were the light, the rainbow, the sun, the warmth, the smile, energy, you were too fragile for this world. All you wanted is to be loved. I treasure our memories from beginning to the end. 22 years. From Biloxi Mississippi to New Orleans mardi gras to Japan laundromat, when people thought we are homeless to Broadway sharing the apartment and doing our thing, the last 25th anniversary of Burn the floor, our Slovenian Croatian adventures, endless parties. Oh how I don’t regret a single night partying and drinking with you while rehearsing for @burnthefloorofficial and doing what we loved, dance and be all together.”
Robin’s fellow dancer and friend of 22 years Gordana Grandosek Whiddon expressed her grief in a heartwrenching postGordana concluded: “We all had so much fun. Late nights walking around, talking, laughing. I was privileged to be next to you on the darkest nights, hugged you when you cried and it seemed, I thought you got out of the shadows just a little bit, but you never did. I tried so hard but it was not enough. It’s breaking my heart that I won’t see you again, hear you laughing, feel you. We had unforgettable last cruise, last adventure, last dance with you, I love you Bobby boy forever. Someday one day up there.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional's death was announced in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with tributes pouring in from fans and Robin's former co-stars throughout the day. No official details regarding his death have been announced yet.
Robin, known for his Latin and ballroom skills, has been described as a "nurturing soul" who "lit up any room he walked into" in the wake of his death. Another friend claimed Robin mentioned something seemingly traumatic happening over New Year but didn't reveal what it was.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the friend of the late star recalled: "He kept saying that something had happened over New Year but he wouldn't say what it was. He sounded absolutely traumatised – whatever had happened must have been truly awful." Before his death, Robin spent his final days working on a luxury cruise ship and exploring Africa.
