'Worst ever' Ryanair flight sees screaming men headbutting in brawl at 40,000ft

A brawl broke out on what was branded the "worst ever" Ryanair flight that saw grown men screaming and throwing headbutts at one another.

Footage captured the outrageous moment two men and a woman began fighting on the Ryanair flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife on February 19. Things got so out of hand that the plane’s crew had to alert local police, who met them when they landed.

The clip was originally shared to Facebook by passenger Hannah MacDonald who witnessed the Monday madness onboard the budget airline. She captioned it: "The blonde bird screamed the whole flight and then her boyfriend and his brother all fell out and started fighting."

One man in blue, and another in grey, square off to one another, getting in each others’ faces. The gentleman dressed in blue seems to suggest the other had drunk alcohol - at which point they both turn on another passenger and begin shouting at him.

The blonde woman is then seen gesturing down the plane before she then gets into an argument with the man in grey. This is broken up when the other gentleman in grey intervenes, promptly trying to headbutt the other man.

It’s then not quite clear what happens, but everyone can be seen trying to bunch one another and the woman is even seeing trying to punch another passenger. The man dressed in blue appears to shout: "That's my Mrs you're speaking to mate."

Nikki Swinton, another passenger, claimed she was sitting behind them and said there were issues throughout the flight. She said: "It was hell. Had to endure the abuse from them for 2.5 hours before the crew had a word. It was the worst flight of my life.

"They threatened to attack me when I got off the plane. The language and what they were talking about was disgusting. This fight happened amongst themselves about 30 minutes from landing. They started throwing punches at each other when we were about to land."

Members of the cabin crew tried unsuccessfully to intervene, before two Spanish police officers boarded the plane and escorted the woman and man in blue off. A spokesperson for Ryanair said: "The crew of this flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife (19 Feb) called ahead for police assistance after a small number of passengers became disruptive onboard. The aircraft was met by local police upon arrival at Tenerife and these passengers were removed. This is now a matter for local police."
