Dancing on Ice pro's daughter rushed to hospital with bloody skating injury

Former EastEnders star Sam Attwater and Dancing on Ice's Vicky Ogden have shared that their eldest daughter was taken to hospital over an an apparent skating injury.

The actor, 37 - who played Leon Small on the BBC soap - took to Instagram on Tuesday to tell fans that the couple's daughter Rosie, seven, had injured herself whilst on the ice. He posted a photo of an apparent injury to her head.

Sam told his followers that he had spent the afternoon in A&E with Rosie, whom he shares with professional ice skater Vicky, 39. He said that she had "managed to get the heel of her blade in the back of her head when kicking backwards".

Alongside the photo, Sam wrote on the platform earlier this week: "Spent the afternoon in A&E with Rosie today. This is what happens when you do Gymnastics and Ice skating and are incredibly flexible. She managed to get the heel of her blade in the back of her head when kicking backwards."

The post was subsequently shared by his wife Vicky on her Instagram Story and Sam later issued a follow-up. He shared a video of himself and Rosie in a car, telling his followers that she was "all good". He said in the post's caption: "She's all good! Thank you for all who have messaged and to the nurses who looked after her. How amazing is the NHS."

Sam is said to have met his now wife Vicky when they both appeared on the Dancing on Ice tour in 2012, following him having won the ITV show with Brianne Delcourt the previous year. Sam and Vicky went on to compete together on the All Star series, which was broadcast a decade ago in 2014.

The couple - who were engaged by the time they competed as a pair on the ninth series of the show - went on to get married later that same year. Sam and Vicky are now parents to Rosie and her younger sibling Daisy, four.

Vicky joined Dancing on Ice in 2012 and her first celebrity partner was Coronation Street star Andy Whyment. The following year she skated with comedian Joe Pasquale and more recently she was partnered with comedian Matt Richardson.

The professional ice skater is among the line-up on the latest series of the show, which returned last month. Vicky has been partnered with former Olympic ski jumper Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards this year and the pair remain in the competition.

There are just six couples left in the competition, with the other remaining celebrities along Eddie being Adele Roberts, Amber Davies, Greg Rutherford, Miles Nazaire and Ryan Thomas. Ricky Norwood was the latest contestant voted out of the show, having placed seventh in this year's contest.
