Mohamed Salah has been added to Liverpool’s crippling crock list, leaving them without up to 10 players.

Salah returned on Saturday from a hamstring injury after four weeks out and is suffering from fatigue. The Egypt star is doubtful for Wednesday's clash with Luton at Anfield and there is also a question mark over his involvement in Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final against Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp already lost Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones and Darwin Nunez at Brentford on Saturday and Salah’s injury is the last thing he needed.

Klopp claimed Liverpool were closely monitoring all their injured stars on a daily basis. When asked if Salah has suffered a recurrence of his injury, Klopp said: “It’s a similar area where he feels it a little bit.

“We have to see how it develops. It’s nothing crazy, but we have to see.” Klopp said Jota would be out for “months” with his knee problem, although it is hoped he will return before the end of April.

He claimed it was too early to give a timescale for Jones and that Nunez’s issue was not too serious after he was withdrawn at half-time at Brentford as a precaution.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai are unlikely to return from their respective knee and hamstring problems to face Chelsea.

“It’s not great, definitely not,” said Klopp. “Diogo, with a knee issue, is ruled out, Curtis with a bone ligament issue ruled out and then we have the others, where we have to deal with it day by day.

“With Diogo, it will take months. With Curtis, you have important days when you judge the situation again and I couldn’t give you a timeframe even if I wanted to.

“All the little bit longer term, like Trent and Dom, they’re on their way back, but not available. “If we have 11 players, we will go for it and that’s exactly the idea.”

Liverpool’s crocklist could seriously undermine their quadruple bid and Luton is the first of eight testing games, including Manchester City, in 25 days.

Klopp is determined to be upbeat and says his players have always covered for each other this season to keep them on track for glory.

“There are 5,000 different ways to win a football game and we only have to find one,” he said. “That should always be possible, especially at home where we can generate a dynamic where people can grow above themselves, that you really can be the best version of yourself.

“Who then cares about the number on your back or the position you play? .

“It’s actually not important, it’s just what can you contribute, what can you bring to the team. If we did not know that before, we’ve learned that this year 100 per cent.”

Klopp claims the Anfield crowd will be vitally important tonight against Luton and dubbed boss Rob Edwards’ work as “insane”.

He said: “Rob, the job he’s doing there is insane. I’m not sure it’s respected enough with the amount of points they had at the start of the season, making such a football development, I’m not sure I’ve seen that before.

“We need Anfield 100 per cent, it must be a European night in England.”
