It's all thanks to a hidden part of EE's site, and you don't have to commit to a contract

As Apple, Samsung and Google launch new devices every year, tech fans can often feel pressured into thinking they need an upgrade. And even when a phone stops working sprucing up to the latest iOS or Android software can cost close to £1,000.

Samsung's latest deal on its newest Galaxy S24 Plus will no doubt get shoppers' attention, it'll give you a free £219 pair of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro wireless headphones when you buy a new phone. This iPhone 15 Pro Max deal at Sky Mobile caught our eye too, as it saves shoppers more than £300.

  • This Samsung Galaxy S21 is £300 cheaper at EE - BUY HERE

Although both deals listed above will still see shoppers spend more than £900 for a new phone leaving us on the hunt for a cheaper way to buy a sparkly new phone. And a member of our team did exactly that as she upgraded to an iPhone 14 Pro and paid £206 less than the going rate.

And it's all thanks to a lesser-known part of the EE site, away from the brand-new deals, data bundles and flagship launches from tech brands the retailer sells phones for a fraction of the price. In its second-hand site, also known as its 'used stock'.

Rachel Sloper, the latest money-conscious iPhone shopper on our team, said: "I managed to find an iPhone 14 Pro for £894, it was listed as Grade A condition and when it arrived it came in perfect as-new condition complete with the box, accessories and not a scratch on it.

"It was a new phone. It came with a warranty too which added a bit of reassurance to buying a used phone. It's a big outlay up front, but pairing it with a SIM-only plan saves me an absolute fortune compared to buying through a pricey contract."

At the time of purchase Apple, last year, Apple sold the device for £1,100 since it was the brand's newest flagship device, despite Rachel saying the condition of her second hand phone was just as good as new. Apple no longer sells the iPhone 14 Pro model but it can be found at Amazon for £999.

The newest rollout of the iPhone 15 range is to blame for that, as Apple launched four new models in Autumn last year, making headlines for its first titanium-designed iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The two Pro models in the range start at £999 on Apple's site, but eager shoppers could use the tried and tested EE 'used stock' for a much cheaper price.

The 256GB iPhone 15 Pro Max currently sells at Apple for £1,199 although EE is selling a brand new but old stock model for £50 less, at £1,149. The condition is in new, fresh box, condition and shoppers don't have to take out a fixed EE contract. This Samsung Galaxy S21 is another good spot, at £399 it's £300 cheaper than the usual Samsung store price.

Unlike rival providers EE used stock site can be bought outright which means you aren't tied into data amounts or potential mid-contract price rises. Other retailers including Amazon Warehouse, Back Market and GiffGaff Refurbished sell second hand phones.
