Kylian Mbappe has reportedly put pen to paper on a mega-money five-year deal with Real Madrid after confirming he will leave Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and was expected to be leaving the Parc des Princes. It was previously suggested that he has made the club hierarchy aware of his imminent departure.

Real Madrid have long been linked with a move for him, while Arsenal and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest. Now, it appears that Mbappe is closing in on a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Mbappe has already signed his contract with Real. His deal will run until the summer of 2029. It is suggested that they are willing to make him their highest-paid player.

His deal - apparently worth between £12m and £17m - while still eye-watering is a decrease on the huge £22m he earns annually in the French capital. However, he is still set to earn a huge £85.5m signing-on fee.

While there has been talk of a move to Real Madrid, PSG boss Luis Enrique has remained tight-lipped over his star’s future. Asked for an update, he said: "No. I can't say anything."

"I am going to try to bring this topic to an end. I don't have any comments to make," Enrique added. "The parties involved haven't yet said anything publicly, Kylian Mbappe hasn't said anything publicly. When both parties speak, I will give my opinion."

Mbappe putting pen to paper formally ends talk of a move to the Premier League. Liverpool and France star Ibrahima Konate was recently probed about his side’s interest but laughed off talk of a move to Anfield.

He said: “Do you really think he’s going to come here? I think we all know where he’s going to go!” He was not the only one to have a bit of fun with Mbappe’s future.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was also probed on a move and hinted that the striker was on the way to Spain. He said: "When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in that conversation. But it looks in a different way, that's what I would say."

Amid constant talk over Mbappe’s future, he is still putting in starring performances for PSG. He started on the bench against Nantes at the weekend but was still introduced to score from the penalty spot and secure a 2-0 win. The 2018 World Cup winner now has 32 goals in just 31 appearances in all competitions this term.
