Piranha unveiled as huge boyband star as they win Masked Singer UK 2024 final
The Masked Singer UK's Piranha was crowned as the 2024 winner on Saturday night, where they were revealed to be none other than Danny Jones.
The hit ITV series launched earlier this year and Saturday night's final saw Cricket,Bigfoot andPiranha take to the stage in a bid to impress the judges -Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan and guest Rob Brydon - one last time.
After beating Cricket and Bigfoot, it was Piranha crowned the winner and upon hearing the chant "take it off", Piranha was unmasked to be McFly star Danny, 37.

He continued: "It feels surreal. Everything about this show and everything about what I've just done is completely surreal! I have become a Piranha, and no longer Danny Jones!", adding on keeping it a secret: "Very hard and even more so now I’ve won.

"It's been really difficult because I get excited by stuff very easily and I'm all in when I do something. I'm meant to be on tour. It's been very difficult, but that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?"
Talking about his McFly bandmates' reaction when finding out, he joked: "I think that the boys [in McFy] will be very surprised. I am my own worst enemy, so I'm always like, 'That wasn’t very good', so they always build me up. They’ll guess me straight away."
Immediately after the show Danny took to Instagram to share a clip of his son Cooper Alf Jones watching the show. The youngster had no idea his dad was behind the costume and was amazed at the reveal, with proud dad Danny sharing the reaction online.

An excited Cooper then shouts: "It's daddy!" before jumping on his laughing dad, adding: "It's you, it's you!" Danny also shared a sweet video of him and Cooper shouting: "Champion, champion!" Danny's 647K followers and celebrity pals were quick to react to the sweet clips.
Michelle Keegan penned: "Awwww bless him" with a heart, Pixie Lott wrote: "Ahhh this is the best!!!" with a heart, Portia Jett put: "Cooper's reaction is EVERYTHING… I’ve been telling Ore it was Danny every week!" while Emma Barton added: "Oh this made me cry!!" with heart emojis.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were also quick to react to Danny winning as Piranha. One person said: "OMG, Danny Jones. What a voice!! Obvs you from week one. Big fan well done mate #maskedsingeruk", a different account put: "So proud of Danny! #maskedsingeruk" while another added: "Danny Jones has some voice. Brilliant. #maskedsingeruk."
The Masked Singer UK 2024 launched earlier this year with 12 new characters - Owl, Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Eiffel Tower, Chicken Caesar, Piranha, Maypole, Cricket, Bigfoot, Dippy Egg, Weather and Rat. Weather became the first character to be unmasked as soul music legend Dionne Warwick and next up was Chicken Caesar who turned out to be Alexander Armstrong.
The third character to be revealed was Rat who was unmasked as Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas while the next character was Bubble Tea who was revealed to be Julia Sawalha. The fifth character revealed was Owl as Lorraine Kelly.
Next up was Dippy Egg, who was unmasked to be radio and TV presenter Nicky Campbell, and Maypole, who was revealed to be Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, in a double elimination. In the penultimate episode of The Masked Singer UK last week, Airfryer was revealed to be Greatest Showman star Keala Settle while Eiffel Tower was revealed to be 80s pop sensation Tiffany.
Masked Singer's Fawn 'exposed' as girlband star but fans divided
On Saturday's final, before Piranha was crowned the winner, Cricket and Bigfoot were unmasked. Finishing in third place, Cricket was unveiled as Lemar while runner-up Bigfoot was revealed to be Alex Brooker.
The Masked Singer UK first launched in 2020 where Nicola Roberts was announced as the winner after being unmasked as Queen Bee. Since then, Joss Stone won in 2021 as her character Sausage, Natalie Imbruglia won in 2022 as her character Panda and Charlie Simpson won in 2023 as Rhino.
