A lottery player is set to lose a £1million prize - unless they claim their winnings in the next 24 hours.

The punter has only hours left to claim the millionaire prize as the six-month deadline is looming. If no one comes forward with the winning ticket then the life-changing prize, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

The winning unclaimed ticket was a EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw prize TCMH10741 and was bought in the London borough of Haringey on August 22.

The contest guarantees that at least one UK ticketholder will be made a millionaire after each EuroMillions draw. The ticket is one of five £1 million prizes which are still unclaimed between last August and January this year.

The National Lottery has now urged players from Haringey to “check and double-check” their ticket code as somebody could become an instant millionaire.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a massive difference to somebody’s life.

"We’re urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old EuroMillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding. Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

In January, one lucky Brit scooped a monster EuroMillions jackpot - sharing it with a Spanish ticketholder. The ticket-holder won more than £61 million after splitting the £123 million lottery jackpot with a joint winner.

Britain's obsession with the National Lottery shows no sign of dying out. ‌A study analysed Google search data and found the UK's most lottery-obsessed city is Sunderland. Cambridge is ranked the least interested out of all UK cities.

The biggest ever Brit jackpot win is £195million. The record-breaking EuroMillions prize was claimed in July 2022. The Haringey ticket holder has until February 18 to claim their prize.
