A woman in her late 20s has revealed how she left her husband in a bid to have a ‘hot girl summer,’ but has realised a little too late that the grass in the sunshine 'isn’t always greener'. After admitting she had had a baby in her early 20s, the mother told how bringing up a baby so young meant she never got to ‘live her best life,’ leading to her trying to recreate it later in life instead.

She said: “All the other females my age are sleeping with rappers and going to parties and I never got that since I had to grow up so fast.” She also revealed that she divorced her husband when she was 25, receiving alimony and child support as well as the couple’s house in the settlement.

However, once the divorce dust settled, she said that her single life wasn’t all it was cracked up to be: “Now I deeply regret it,” she admitted. “My daughter spends most of her time in daycare, or with my parents, and my ex-husband gets her a few times a month.”

She also told how her husband had moved on very happily, and was expecting a baby with his new younger girlfriend. She said: “She’s 20 and I saw on Facebook that she’s pregnant and my daughter is going to have a half-sister and it makes me jealous. It’s crazy men can replace us with a younger, hotter girl so quickly it kind of makes my heart sad.”

And while the lure of Miami nights and rappers had turned her head at the start, she also admitted that now she was ‘older and wiser,’ she was beginning to miss her past wife life instead: “I miss the housewife life now and I hate that my husband is flourishing out here and I’m kind of hitting the wall for being almost 30.”

Her candid couples revelation caused quite a stir on Reddit, with many readers questioning her life choices. One said: “Outside of abusive situations I don’t know a single divorced woman who wasn’t happy their ex moved on. At least they’re more likely to leave you alone and you might get an extra adult to help take care of your kids.”

One divorced woman offered her some sage advice, commenting: “All in all it's 1000% better to be a single parent than stay in a marriage that’s one-sided. And it's way easier to take care of a kid by yourself than to take care of a kid and a man child.”

Another mum, in her late 30s, said: “I feel better now than I did at 20. If my ex-husband decided to marry a 20-year-old and knock her up I’d laugh my ass off,” while another reader disputed single women feeling as though they’ve hit a wall at 30-years-old: “Usually, it's the opposite. They feel more secure personally and financially. They know what they want out of life and feel more self-assured about not putting up with crap they don't need or deserve.”
