Moyes makes West Ham contract admission after "extreme" reaction to Arsenal loss
David Moyes does not think his contract situation is impacting West Ham ’s players because his relationship with them is so strong.
But the Scot, whose future beyond this season remains uncertain, says if he thought performances were being affected by the lack of clarity he would get it sorted immediately.
Moyes last month said that he was close to signing a new deal but a seven-game winless run compounded by last Sunday’s “terrible” 6-0 loss at home to Arsenal has thrown up fresh questions amid criticism of the team’s playing style.
But asked if he is worried about the players becoming distracted by their manager’s future, Moyes said: “I’ve got such a good relationship with the players and get on so well with them and been around with them for a while. I’ve not brought them all into the club but I’ve brought a good amount in.
“I’ve got a good relationship with them all and there’s nothing in that. If I thought there was any way it was affecting them I would soon make sure it was sorted.”

Moyes brought West Ham their first trophy in 43 years when winning last season’s Europa Conference League, while they are in the round of 16 of this year’s Europa League and remain eighth in the Premier League.
But he has taken a barrage of criticism around the team’s counterattacking style following the Arsenal loss, and a 3-0 reverse away to Manchester United a week earlier.
And Moyes, whose side faces Nottingham Forest away this afternoon, agrees that reactions to short-term results have become more extreme than ever across football - with social media playing a significant role as it allows everybody a public view.

“We’ve won some brilliant games this season, unbelievably good games. We’ve won at Tottenham, we’ve beaten Chelsea at home, we’ve beaten Man United at home, we’ve beaten Arsenal.
“I know we’ve had a terrible defeat but come May we might look back and say ‘Played Arsenal three times, beat them twice, lost once.’ There’s other ways I can look at it in a positive fashion.
“But the extremes of today’s football and the world we’re in at the minute is extreme. Every time we win or lose, there are more people having comments on it.”
