Cher will not be seeing her son walk down the aisle.

Chaz Bono, the star's oldest son, is getting married to Shara Blue Mathes soon but will not be inviting his mother to the wedding. The news comes after Cher was denied conservatorship over her son Elijah Allman, who struggled with addiction.

He claimed that Cher "objects" to his reconciliation with his wife, Marieangela King. It's said to be the second time in January that the star has failed in a bid to control her son's assets. The court sided with Elijah's attorneys who had stated they hadn't been given enough time to create a case against Cher's request.

Sources tell In Touch that the relationship between Chaz and Cher is also not the best. The source said: "Chaz and Shara are removing Cher from the guest list entirely and don’t feel too bad about it either." They continued: "They want a simple ceremony with none of Cher’s theatrics." The Mirror reached out to Cher's team for a comment.

The source said that the relationship started to demolish once Chaz came out as gay and transitioned in 2008. They said she has tried to be there for her kids but they don't wan "anything to do with her." The singer talked about the transition on CNN back in 2020 and reflected on how she grew as a parent during that time. Cher has advocated for the LGBTQIA+ community for many decades but said it was "wasn't easy" at first when Chaz made his decision.

When speaking to Christine Amanpour, Cher said he came out before his transition. She said: I"t was very unlike me to, in the beginning, have a problem with Chaz being gay, and it disappeared like that." She continued: "Then we talked about (whether Chaz was) transgender for many years. And (he) would say, ‘No, I don’t want to (transition). And then he went and said, ‘OK, I want to do this.'"

At that time, Cher expressed how proud she was that Chaz was able to live his true life but it was difficult at first. She said: "It wasn’t easy. I remember calling, and the old (voicemail) message … was on the phone, and that was very difficult." From an emotional and mental perspective, Cher stated that there was a significant lesson to be learned about being a parent of a transgender child.
