A 5-year-old girl was tragically hit and killed by a school bus that had just dropped her off in Spring Valley, New York.

The accident happened near Madison Avenue in Spring Valley, a village about 36 miles northwest of New York City in the towns of Ramapo and Clarkstown in Rockland County.

According to local news source Rockland Buff, an unverified source that seems to exist only on Twitter, now known as X, the little girl, named Toba Neuman, was struck by a Satmar school bus right outside her home. Sadly, paramedics couldn't save her — the bus had killed her instantly.

Emergency services were on the scene quickly after the accident but were unable to save the girl (No credit)

The details are still unclear as investigations continue. While it's not officially confirmed that it was Toba who died, local news has reported one death from the incident. Another news account on the platform, which was formerly known as Twitter, called Ramapo Buffs, reported that the "patient is in traumatic arrest."

News 12 reporter Diane Caruso said this is the second fatal accident in just a few weeks. A young boy was also hit and killed on January 29 in nearby New Square, which is just north of Spring Valley.

A 9-year-old boy from Orlando, Florida, tragically lost his life last month after he was run over by a school bus. Elyas Marshall Rodriguez had just gotten off the bus and was trying to pick up a ball that had rolled under it when the accident happened.

The bus started moving and sadly, Elyas was crushed under its wheel. The Florida Highway Patrol said they were investigating the incident as a traffic homicide. It's even more heartbreaking because Elyas had just won a battle against cancer.

In another tragic incident in November, six people died in Ohio when a lorry crashed into their bus. The victims included students and teachers who were on their way to a state school board conference. They were all part of the school's band and were due to perform at the event.

A memorial service for young Neuman will take place at 2pm local time at a synagogue in Monsey, according to The Yeshiva World. She was a member of the local Jewish community.
