A number of Tower Gate cookie products are being recalled from Lidl over fears they could contain metal.

Products affected include Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Triple Chocolate 210g, Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Lemon Drizzle 210g, and Tower Gate Chocolate Chip Cookies 150g.

Best before dates on the products affected by the recall are 12/12/2024, 13/12/2024, and 14/12/2024.

No other Tower Gate products in Lidl GB stores are affected by the recall. Customers have been urged not to eat the products and return them in-store for a full refund.

The Food Standards Agency said in their latest update: "The possible presence of metal makes these products unsafe to eat".

An official notice to customers explaining the recall reads: "Lidl is recalling the above products. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the products."

Lidl customers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland have also been issued with a recall notice for the same products due to the potential presence of "metal pieces". The Mirror have approached Lidl for comment.
