Kerry Katona cries her eyes out as cosmetic surgery cancelled over Covid fears
Kerry Katona broke down in tears after learning her upcoming cosmetic surgery plans have been postponed.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, 42, had booked the whole of January off to recover from corrective surgery on her stomach later this month, but sadly the procedure is now on hold.
Mum-of-five Kerry was struck down with a mystery illness over the festive period and still isn't feeling 100% - with doctors suspecting the star may have contracted a new variant of Covid-19.
Sadly for Kerry, her recent health woes have now disrupted her plans to go under the knife once again - leaving the former Queen of the Jungle 'crying her eyes out' and regretting cancelling weeks worth of work.
Kerry had been set to have corrective surgery on her stomach later this month, after admitting she didn't 'look after herself properly' following a previous tummy tuck procedure.
Influencer who encouraged followers to battle obesity dies after gastric surgeryDiscussing the now-cancelled cosmetic surgery last year, Kerry explained: "I never looked after myself properly and I've messed it all up, my body is really swollen."
Kerry recently revealed doctors had assessed her and took blood samples in preparation for the operation, but it seems the results didn't come back the way the star wanted.
The reality TV star explains: As I told you last week, I was preparing to have corrective surgery on my stomach, as well as an eyelid lift, but sadly my operation was cancelled.
"I have booked the whole of January off around this surgery but, as you all know, I was really poorly over Christmas. The doctor saw on my notes that I'd been on antibiotics and, because of that, I couldn't go under as they have to be 100% sure I'll be OK."
Continuing in her latest OK! magazine column, Kerry adds: "I was crying my eyes out - I'm at home, I've cancelled all my work for weeks. But fair play to them for thinking about my health first. I'm grateful for that."
She goes on to reveal how she is "gutted" as she had prepared herself for the surgery but is hopeful she will be able to organise her world load and set a new date for the procedure soon.
Last year, Kerry admitted her her decision to have a secret tummy tuck in 2021 was "the worst thing" she has ever done.
"It’s my own fault. It wasn’t a botched job or anything like that. I didn’t let my body recover and rather than resting, I moved house," the star wrote in her latest memoir, Whole Again.
