A bizarre home has been slammed for having the 'worst interior décor in the country' after it was put up for sale.

The three-bed semi-detached property in Prescot, Merseyside looks like quite a decent prospect for a would-be homeowner from the outside - but the inside has drawn some horrified reactions from people online.

The dominant pink and purple ribbons in the living room are certainly a brave design choice, while the repeated use of the Chanel logo rug in the kitchen and in the bedroom might not be everyone's cup of tea. There also appears to be a clear favourite for the design choice, with gaudy pink dominating the kitchen and the bathroom.

It is now been shared widely online after the listing was shared on Rightmove - and people have not held back when it comes to giving their verdict. Express journalist Christian Calgie was one of the first to react to the images, and wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "Excluding houses with severe fire damage, I don't think I have seen a worse interior." Another person said in response: "Gosh that all cost a fortune... they could have had a bigger house instead", while another social media user simply wrote: "That's grim."

Others however saw an opportunity in the for-sale property, as one social media user suggested: "Always buy the worst house on a good street. That way any improvements you make will reap financial benefit for you and improve the neighbourhood. Everything interior that is not screwed to walls will be removed by the owner. Anything left behind can be unscrewed and skipped. I would be more worried about the area and next door run down properties."
