Infamous race faker Rachel Dolezal is in the headlines again after being fired from her teaching job at an Arizona elementary school after an OnlyFans account was linked to her public social media.

The life of Dolezal, who now goes by Nkechi Diallo, has taken many unexpected twists and turns since she first came to media attention in 2015 as a prominent academic. But how did she get from delivering classes on African American Culture as a black woman, to selling pictures of herself online as a white sex worker?

Activist and academic

In 2015 Dolezal was teaching at Eastern Washington University, delivering seminars to students on topics such as "The Black Woman's Struggle", "African and African American Art History", "African History", "African American Culture", and "Intro to Africana Studies".

She described herself as a "professor" on several websites but the university has stated that she was a part-time instructor.

She appears to have had many lives aside from teaching and her most-recent career as a online cam-model, claiming to have worked as a sushi chef, and hair stylist, as well as selling custom video greetings on the website Cameo.

Her most famous role, however, has been as a black activist. Between 2009 and 2015 Dolezal reportedly changed her appearance including darkening her skin and perming her hair. Over the course of this period she was involved with several civil rights organisations including the Human Rights Institute in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho also and in 2014 she was elected president of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP.

Race faker

Throughout this time she made numerous reports of race-related harassment including nooses and swastikas being left at her home and workplace. It was in an interview on June 10, 2015 with a local Spokane TV station about her allegations, that everything started to come unravelled for Dolezal.

KXLY-TV reporter Jeff Humphrey asked Dolezal about a Facebook post in which Dolezal identified Albert Wilkerson as her dad, in the picture he looks white. A bizarre back and forth where Humphrey confronts Dolezal about the ethnicity of her parents ended with him asking: “Are your parents, are they white?” to which Dolezal replied: “I refuse,” and walked away.

In a story published in the Coeur d'Alene Press on June 11, it was reported a black man named Albert Wilkerson who Dolezal had previously claimed was her father, had been tracked down. He denied this claim and reporters were able to track down her real parents, Larry and Ruthanne Dolezal who gave them photos of "their naturally blond, fair-skinned daughter" and a copy of her birth certificate.

Fall from grace

Dolezal’s fall from grace snowballed, rapidly becoming national news. Within a few days she had been forced to step down as President of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, institutions and publications she had previously worked with released statements cutting ties with her as the revelations about her ancestry sparked fury from coast to coast.

Washington Post journalist Jonathan Capehart suggested, "blackface remains highly racist, no matter how down with the cause a white person is" while her adopted brother Ezra Dolezal (who is black) also compared his sister's behaviour to blackface and said "she's basically creating more racism".

Dolezal has previously told reporters that she had resorted to sex work after she was unable to get her career back following the race scandal which engulfed her.

“I started with applying for all of the things I was qualified for, and after interviews and getting turned down, I even applied to jobs that didn’t even require degrees, being a maid at a hotel, working at a casino,” Dolezal told Tamron Hall in an interview. “I wasn’t able to get any of those jobs either,” she added.

Elementary school and OnlyFans

Dolezal, now going by Nkechi Diallo, was hired at the Catalina Foothills School District last August with her contract expected to run through May 24 of this year, district records have revealed. Dolezal was allegedly making $19 an hour in her teaching job, alongside selling content on OnlyFans for $9.99 a month in their NSFW subscription model.

Just a month after she was hired at the school, Dolezal made a post on her OnlyFans account that received 122 likes, which equated to a shocking $1,220 for just one photo, according to Outkick. Content on her OnlyFans includes: “18-image explicit coll

Julie Farbarik, the district’s director of alumni & community relations, said in a statement that Diallo’s “posts are contrary to our district’s ‘Use of Social Media by District Employees’ policy and our staff ethics policy”

“We only learned of Ms Nkechi Diallo’s OnlyFans social media posts yesterday afternoon,” Farbarik added. “She is no longer employed by the Catalina Foothills School District.”
