Paloma Faith has revealed she tragically suffered a miscarriage while filming Pennyworth.

The singer and actress previously opened up about losing her baby in 2021, while comforting Jessie J after she explained to her Instagram followers that she had miscarried. Paloma tends to keep her life away from work extremely private but in a rare admission, has opened up about her personal life and heartache.

Paloma, 42, appeared in the American series Pennyworth as Bet Skykes which took her away from her everyday family life as she threw herself into filming but unbeknownst to those around her, she was secretly suffering.

Speaking to Elizabeth Day on the How To Fail podcast, the songstress who is releasing her latest album, The Glorification of Sadness said: "It started at work and it was a fight scene on Pennyworth. I just thought to myself, it's gone so I might as well carry on with what I was doing. I had to go to the toilet 9 times.

"I told them I ate something bad last night because I knew if I told them they would escort me home. I didn't want to. I would just be going home without work and without a viable pregnancy." Paloma shares two children with her former partner Leyman Lahcine but admits that several rounds of IVF were "harrowing".

The songstress revealed she suffered an ectopic pregnancy during her first round but later discovered she had two viable pregnancies "quite quickly" in 2016. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the uterus, most commonly in the fallopian tubes.

But the birth was "difficult", with Paloma explaining her first birth was "actually unbearable" after she was told she would have a premature baby after she suffered PROMs (premature rupture of membranes) at six months. Due to what was happening, Paloma explained she had just seven hours of sleep across one week and endured an emergency cesarean section.

Due to this, she suffered various fertility issues as well as post-partum psychosis and was hallucinating due to the severe lack of sleep. She also believes she was depressed for several years without even realising it. Despite her struggles, Paloma went on to welcome her second child after three failed transfers, with the star being "headstrong". She later welcomed a baby girl in February 2021.

Her latest album details her split from Lahcine but Paloma revealed the meaning behind the name of the record after attending five funerals in just one year.
