Kym Marsh's message for 'singles' on first Valentine's Day since marriage split
Kym Marsh has encouraged fans to "be nice" to themselves on Valentine's Day as she celebrates the occasion for the first time since her split from her ex Scott Ratcliff last year.
The presenter, 47, took to her Instagram account to mark the annual holiday and confirmed that she's "single". Kym however enjoyed the company of a pal this week and urged her followers on the platform to "love yourself always". She wrote in a post this morning: "Happy Valentine's to all of us single people! Be nice to yourself today! Love yourself always! Do something for you! You deserve it!" Kym added: "And here's a great big hug from me to you. You're amazing."
The former Coronation Street cast member - who's more recently fronted BBC's Morning Live - referenced the late Elizabeth Taylor in a subsequent post on her Instagram Story. Kym mentioned a quote that's attributed to Elizabeth.
Alongside a photo of herself, she wrote to her followers: "In the words of Elizabeth Taylor 'put on some lipstick and pull yourself together'." Kym concluded the post by writing in the caption that accompanied the selfie: "Happy Vals Day." She later shared a photo of herself and makeup artist Sally Rowe, teasing that they had enjoyed each other's company recently. Kym wrote in the caption: "The perfect Galentines with my girl @sallyrowemua who needs a lover!!!!!"
Kym suggested the pals were together on Galentine's Day, which has been described as a "holiday that celebrates women's friendship". Though typically marked on February 13, she shared the post the following day on Valentine's Day.
Kate rules out receiving romantic gift from Prince William on Valentine's DayIt's understood to be the first Valentine's Day since Kym and her ex-partner Scott, 34, separated. A source suggested in May last year that they "really tried to make it work" but were both busy due to work, which it was suggested meant they lived apart. It was reported that distance and their careers led to their pair's breakup.
Army officer Scott is said to have been based "in barracks down south," whilst Kym reportedly lives in Cheshire. She's believed to have removed a description of herself as "wife to Scott" from her Instagram bio last year and later shared that aspects of her personal life are "just experience".
