A plasterer is walking to Ibiza to have a drink with Wayne Lineker as he 'can't afford a flight'.

Henry Moores is trudging through a marathon a day for two months so he can party with new pal Wayne at his swanky beach club on the sun soaked island. The 21-year-old is desperate to visit the party island this summer so has planned an epic 1,200-mile hike through France and mainland Spain to get there.

He messaged the O Beach Ibiza owner on Instagram, pledging that if the footballer's relative replied he would lace up his boots and set off - and to Henry's surprise the club tycoon did. Wayne posted a video of the pair at his London pad on Sunday where he pledged his support for 'crazy' Henry and promised to meet him in Ibiza to end the walk at his club.

In the clip Henry explains he's taking on the challenge, which will begin on March 2, because "he's never been to Ibiza and can't afford a flight".

The avid walker, who raised £20,000 for charity by walking 500 miles to Paris in October and November, hopes to raise even more on this adventure. Despite planning to complete 60 marathons in 60 days Henry insists he'll "definitely have enough energy" to party when he reaches the finish line on May 2nd.

He claims some family and friends have already booked to meet him so he's feeling the pressure to complete the mammoth task. Henry, from Macclesfield, Cheshire, said: "The flights, the baggage, the accommodation, the party - a lot of that now should funnel through the trip instead of me having to go and pay for it.

"I thought I could walk to Ibiza and get a holiday out of it while raising money for charity and meeting Wayne Lineker. I got in touch with Wayne and I went to his apartment which was unbelievable. He got me into this position.

"I will definitely have enough energy when I get there because everything goes out the window when you finish something like that. All the fatigue and everything gets behind you, for at least one night I can put it all behind me. Wayne has promised me a free shot and the rest hasn't been discussed yet.

"I don't want to say or expect too much but I would like a free cocktail. Probably more than 15 friends and family have said 'Yeah, I'm coming' and a few have said they have already booked it. They've booked the bed, the tickets to Ocean Beach and the flights. It is exciting but it adds a lot of time pressure. I knew if I did something like this I would be going to Ibiza."

One potential snag in Henry's plan is that he will have to fork out for a ferry crossing, from the UK to France and from mainland Spain to Ibiza. The Dover to Calais crossing typically sets foot passengers back £60 or more, while the latter is likely to cost around £100 from nearest port Dénia in the high season. There is currently a return flight available from Manchester Airport to Ibiza at the beginning of May for £100.

Henry plans to arrive in Ibiza the day before the opening of O Beach on May 3 and says Lineker plans to invite some celebrity friends. He will be releasing details on how to donate to his soon-to-be-chosen charities on his TikTok account @henryoscarmoores.
